Thai Chicken Coconut Soup - Tom Kha Gai (ต้มข่าไก่)

Previous post, cooking recipe already provided a recipe for cooking a yummy Thai soup which is called "Tom Klong Pla Krob". In this post, we will give another delicious Thai soup called "Tom Kha Gai (Thai Chicken Coconut Soup)".

This menu is very easy to make and the taste is similar to "Tom Yum".

But we add coconut milk for this menu. This menu has an intense flavor and it is a delicious to eat with rice.

Another Thai Soups:
Ingridients:
  • 400 g. chicken breast
  • 200 g. oyster mushroom
  • 2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 cup water
  • 8-10 piece galangal, sliced
  • 2 lemongrass stems
  • 5 kaffir lime leaves
  • 10 red chilies
  • 3 tbsp. fish sauce
  • 3 tbsp. lime juice
  • 3 tbsp. palm sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Coriander leave, Garnish
How to cook:
  1. Crushed the lemongrass stems and cut each one in half
  2. Sliced galangal, thinly
  3. Rip kaffir lime leave
  4. Crushed red chilies
  5. Cut the chicken breast into bite size
  6. Boiled the water and coconut milk
  7. Add lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leave
  8. Add the chicken and mushroom
  9. Simmer medium heat for 5 minutes until chicken is cooked
  10. Seasoning with fish sauce, palm sugar, and lime juice (The soup should taste sour, lightly sweet and salty)
  11. Add chilies and coriander leave
  12. Serve with rice
