Stir Fried Fish with Chinese Celery (Thai Food) – Pla Pad Keun Chai ปลาผัดขึ้นฉ่าย

Stir fried fish with Chinese celery (Pla Pad Keun) is a nice choice for fish lover. Any fish can be used in this recipe but normally white meat fish will be used. 

Fish fillet will be deep fried until crispy outside and soft inside, and then stir fried with Chinese celery and another ingredient until done.

It is a great dish to serve with a bowl of steamed rice.

Ingridients: For 2 portions
  • 300 g. Fish, well pieces
  • 1/4 cup tapioca flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 cup Chinese celery
  • 1/2 cup spring onion
  • 2 red chili, well pieces
  • 2 tbsp. garlic
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. salted soybean sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • Oil for deep frying
How to cook:
  1. Season fish with salt and pepper
  2. Toss fish with flour. Set aside
  3. Deep fried fish around 2-3 minutes. Set aside
  4. Mix sugar, Salted soybean sauce, Oyster sauce, soy sauce, and water together
  5. Add oil and garlic into the wok
  6. Keep stirring
  7. Add Chinese celery, chili, spring onion, mixed sauce, and fried fish
  8. Mix well
  9. Ready to serve
