Coconut Ball (Thai Traditional Dessert) - Ka Nom Tom (ขนมต้ม)

Coconut Ball (Ka Nom Tom) is a traditional Thai dessert which was dated back since the Sukhothai period.

It is a popular Thai dessert which is preferably opted to serve in many Thai ceremonies. 

Steamed glutinous rice flour wrapped in sweet coconut stuffed which stirring until smooth and delicious, then boil until done, finally mix well with coconut.

Ingridients: For 2-3 portions
  • 150 g. sticky rice flour
  • 140 g. coconut milk
  • 300 g. ripe coconut
  • 200 g. palm sugar
  • 3 tbsp. water
Ingridients: For coating
  • 200 g. ripe coconut
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
How to make: Coating
  1. Mix well the coconut and salt
How to make:
  1. Melt the palm sugar and water on a low heat until dissolve completely
  2. Add the ripe coconut
  3. Keep stirring until the mixture reduce
  4. Remove from the heat
  5. Shape the filling into the bite size ball
  6. Mix the sticky rice flour and coconut milk until smooth
  7. Shape the flour mixture
  8. Spread it out and wrap the filling
  9. Boil the rice balls and roll up with the coconut
  10. Ready to serve :P
