Steamed Sweet Corn Cake (Thai Dessert) – Kanom Khao Phot ขนมข้าวโพด

Best cooking recipes provides you another Thai cake dessert recipe that is hard to find nowadays. This sweet is a one type of Thai steamed cake that using sweet corn mixed with another flours and coconut milk, then steamed until done. Normally we will found this steamed cake made from banana, taro and pumpkin.
If you can find sweet corn at your local market, you should try to make this one.
Ingridients: for 3-4 portions
  • 250 g. Sweet corn
  • 50 g. rice flour
  • 25 g. tapioca flour
  • 150 g. sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup ripe coconut, shredded
  • Food coloring
How to cook:
  1. Mix coconut milk, salt, sugar, rice flour, tapioca flour and sweet corn
  2. Blend together
  3. Drop yellow food coloring and mix well
  4. Pour into cup and steam 20-25 minutes
  5. Cool down and remove
  6. Top with coconut shredded before serve
  7. Ready to serve :P
