Sweet Sticky Rice in Banana Leave (Thai Dessert) - Kao Tom Mud ข้าวต้มมัด

Sweet sticky rice in Banana leave Thai dessert is a folk’s knowledge because Thailand grown a lot of bananas and we use many parts of them in Thai cuisine.

This delicious dessert make from sticky rice and coconut milk, then wrapped with banana leave and steamed until done.


Ingridients:
  • 2 cups sticky rice
  • 2 1/2 cups coconut cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5-6 bananas
  • Banana leaves
  • 3-4 pandan leaves
  • Thin bamboo-stripes
How to cook:
  1. Soak the sticky rice around 2 hours and drain water. Set aside
  2. Mix coconut cream, salt, pandan leaves, and rice together
  3. Stirring until the oil came out from coconut cream
  4. Add sugar and stirring until dry out
  5. Remove pandan leave and cool down
  6. Cut banana into bite pieces
  7. Clean and cut the banana leaf on 6 and 8 inch
  8. Take 2 banana leaves
  9. Add the some mixture and put slice of banana on top 1 piece
  10. Add some more mixture on top of the banana
  11. Wrap it up in the banana leaves and rope with bamboo-stripes
  12. Steamed them 1 hour on medium heat until cook
  13. Ready to serve :P
