Honey roasted chicken

After providing some Thai food, today best cooking recipe is pleased to give the gourmet cooking recipe for Khmer Food. 

The Khmer food that we will provide recipe to day is called honey roasted chicken. It is a delicacy food and yummy.

You will be guided step by step on how to cook chicken as well as the sauce to make the chicken taste deciliious.

Ingredients for chicken:
  • 1 chicken
  • 1 spoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 hot peppers
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 spoon oyster sauce
  • 1 spoon cooking oil
Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1 spoon honey
  • 1 spoon sugar
  • 1 spoon lime juice
  • 2 spoon fish sauce
  • 2 hot pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 spoon cooking oil
Recipe to cook the chicken:
  1. Pound the pepper, salt, garlic together then mix it with the rest of the ingredients together.
  2. Clean the chicken inside out then marinate it, and leave it aside for at least an hour.
  3. Wrapped the chicken with 3-4 layers of banana leaves.
  4. Lay the wrapped chicken on a tray. Place another tray filled with water on the lower level of the oven. Roast the chicken in 400c heat for about 1/2 hour, then flip the chicken.
  5. Roast for another 30 min, then remove the banana leaves from the chicken.
  6. Roast the chicken for another 30 min until it is fully cooked and become red and crispy.
  7. Add more water to the lower tray if it gets dry.
Recipe to make the sauce:
  1. Pound the sugar with garlic and hot pepper. Add lime juice and stir well for about 1min.
  2. Add the rest of ingredient and mix it well. Let it stand aside for at least 1/2 hour.
  3. Once you remove the chicken from the oven and place on a plate, soothe the chicken with this sauce.
  4. Serve with white rice, green lettuce, sliced tomato, and sliced cucumber.
